Additional Qualifications Designations (AQDs)

About AQDs

The Navy Subspecialty System is a manpower and personnel classification system that establishes the criteria and procedures for identifying officer (Unrestricted Line, Restricted Line, and Staff Corps) requirements for advanced education, training, and experience in a variety of disciplines, as well as identifying the officers who possess these skills and knowledge.  Part of that system is keeping track of "AQDs," which are sort of like Navy merit badges that nobody sees except the detailer and the promotion board.  Below you'll find information to help buff up your record.

Global Health Engagement

This is a great AQD to get if you wish to show your involvement and interest in the Navy's Global Health Engagement operations.  The application is long, but many RAMs have adequate experience between their operational tours, RAM training, and MPH coursework to make a good case for being awarded this AQD.
