Radiation Health Indoctrination Course

Overview

The Radiation Health Indoctrination Course is designated for Medical Department personnel other than Undersea Medical Officers and Radiation Health Officers.  Residents are introduced to the basics of the Navy Radiation Health Program in accordance with BUMEDINST 1500.27.   The basic requirements for physicians reviewing ionizing radiation worker physical examinations are discussed. 

Instruction is provided in Radiological Fundamentals, Radiological Controls, Personnel Dosimetry, Radiation Health Administration, Medical Surveillance, Personnel Training, Radiological Casualty Response.  Successful completion of this course will also provide the focus on some American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine Competencies for Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management.
